Hello fuzzballs! Here's a new shiny release out for everyone to play! The biggest change in this version is that the online gameplay is now connected to your forum account here, which means a tighter social integration and better support for Funder and Coin payments!

Here's the changelog:

Online gameplay is now dependent on Kemze Forum (Kz.FORUM).
To play online, you now need to log in using your forum account credentials.
Game characters now connect to your forum account and will show up in forum account settings.

Coin balance is now account-wide and can be spent on any character.

Events in the eventpad now show forum events.

The art room stage is updated with new features.
Lights are rearranged and have better functionality.
The side lights now hang from the ceiling instead of standing on the floor.

A spotlight is now aimed at the center to highlight the stage speaker/presenter.
The spotlight can be changed color or toggled on/off through a light switch.

There is now another lightswitch to darken the entire room.

The white projector now shows the streamer screen and has been moved further back.

On each side of the stage, there are now boxes with cardboard cutouts.
Most of them show a variety of interesting drawings for stage play performances.

Some of them are playful masks once featured in a previous April Fool's event.

The curtains now hide the sides in addition to hiding the player tags.

Whisper functions are improved.
Whispering with a space before now still sends the whisper in private. Sorry about that.

Whispering now checks for ASCII characters, so that emotes like "@.@" can still be written.

Receiving whispers will now notify the game icon in the taskbar if alt-tabbed away.

Whispers during the Whisper duo emote now work for the one receiving the emote.

Whispering to players with spaces will now properly format the message.

Player book/Library functionality is improved.
The library bookcases now have descriptive titles, to make it easier to refer to shelves.

Seeing other players use the bookcases no longer fades your book strangely.

Using books is now smoother and more consistent, and shows better titles in the UI.

The hands should now properly bring up the book to your face when reading it.

Various bugs are fixed and small improvements are added.
The delay when walking to someone to do a duo emote is finally fixed.

New shirt patterns are added by Kert once again. Thank you!

A composite/CRT visual effect overlay is added.
It can be toggled in settings and modified with the command /crt <ui/game>

Doors can now be properly aimed at with the Enter/C key.

Pressing F6 now toggles the heat haze/frosting/raindrops weather overlay effects.

Player tags no longer wait for the player character to load in and will immediately appear.

The emote sound (* Player does something *) and a single "!" have a slightly changed sound effect.

The three main species' clothes 3D models are now more consistent with backfaces.

Player sound effects now respect the Player volume setting rather than UI.

LAN game character joins now work properly.

The Godot version was updated to the latest 3.x commit.

Hello again,
I've uploaded a hotfix to Beta 2.4. A hotfix means the game was updated without increasing the version number, which means that the new features I added are optional (but highly recommended). So, if you want them, please re-download Beta 2.4 to get access to them.

Here's the changelog:

Funders now have these changes:
Whisper across areas (including replies to them).

See and broadcast their own/other players join/leave messages.

Claim a player dorm room and keep it without a foodraise requirement.

Access all specie models and variations in the character creator.

Existing Funder perks are still applied:
Receive a unique, large club room in the forest house.

Unlock the character creation limit.

Always wear casual clothes and wear the special funder-only outfit.

Past funders now get a grey-green color nametag.

Active funders can now download their online savefiles.
Log in to the character creator. If an online savefile is available, it will be shown at the bottom.

You have to play online at least once to upload your savefile (as well as your character information, obviously).

If you already have the savefile on disk, you first have to remove it before being able to download it.

Non-Funders can now:
Gift bought items to other players.

Non-Funders are now not allowed to submit player-created items to the world by default.
This includes submitting books, sprays, sticky notes and player cards.

This rule is temporarily lifted during appropriate events ("Creative club")

Smaller fixes are applied.
The calendar now shows the correct number of upcoming events.

Player sound emotes now play at a reasonable volume similar to TTS.

Bugtrap mushrooms no longer have physics collision.

The club room can now be accessed by a padlock that hangs on the forest sign.
Entering the club room now makes your character say which room you entered.

The personality trait window now no longer forgets the traits selected.

You can now delete characters from the character picker screen.

The time on your playertag is no longer stuck frozen.
