Oh, so it seems that I'm working on another Beta 2 version! I thought I'd be done enough to hop over to Beta 3 but I felt like it was appropriate to tackle many of the long standing issues I've had with the game before continuing on, which included...

Not being able to hot reload scripts in the editor without crashing the game
Not being able to live debug my character scripts errors (godot limited me here)
Random crashes plaguing the game relating to threads and the (mis)use of them
Antiquated code that wasn't written well, lots of performance penalties and memory leaks
Extremely heavy dependencies (looking at you, ~ 500mb CEF for streaming)
The classic old clipping issues with the kemo face up close

SO, I decided that another version is in order. I am ending up using AI to help me improve the internal function of the game (I never will be using it for creative purposes......!) which includes really boring stuff that you can't see: the advanced custom animator code for animating skeletons in the game, the streamer player that streams a video live feed for our parties, etc etc. I decided to fix them up, and as a result the streamer download is now a tiny ₁₀ mb (and doesn't require a game restart!) as well as that programming for the game itself is much easier and predictable for me without so many annoying weird edge cases and running myself in to trouble.

I then thought that it would be nice to update the internal system for player scripts, because by Novah was that programming a mess. so then the thing you have to understand is, I was using something called threads in the game for dividing up parallel work. that basically means that I'm trying to make the computer do several things at once. that comes with its own minefield of issues because of how they all try to talk together, which can lead to difficult problems, one of which includes the game crashing out of nowhere. I'M SURE THAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU. And that has also happened to me, a lot. Ever see me randomly disconnect and connect in the middle of a conversation? IT'S BECAUSE OF THAT! It's because I write a change in a script, save it, the threads collapse and the game breaks. But improving that requires me to rewrite the entire scripting system in the game. Which doesn't actually change, but it's a refactor. It's basically like cleaning up my room that's been neglected for years. For most of my scripting for the game I usually closed my eyes and pretended it was fine as long as I didn't look at it. But clearly, now there is an opportunity to fix it, so I deemed it necessary.

Anyways, with all that said, I've also added some more interesting stuff, like a much needed upgrade to the free cam, allowing you to better control focus and even tilt the camera! And as said, the species having fixed clipping, the inventory icons now having proper labels on them that won't shrink with the icons, the ability to change hair in the wardrobe (funders)... ... ... well its a bunch, but know that I'm working hard on completing this long-awaited script update..... it'll take a bit, there's a shit ton of code to update but I AM WORKING ON IT!!
